Patrick + Pauline

Last week, I got to go be with Patrick! We traveled through 5 states: Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas! And all along the way, we got to meet Patrick's family and many of his friends. Thank you to each of Patrick's family and friends for your warm smiles, kind conversations, welcoming homes and warm beds.
Patrick and I had a special time together I won't forget. Thank you, Patrick, for a week filled with you. Next stop is 'Wa'?!
Hey, are we a cute couple, or what?

Creativity and Snow

Creativity is like snow. It falls when the conditions are right. When the season comes, everywhere you go, you can hear its twinkly song. You can walk in it, build things with it, and leave its tracks behind.
Creativity makes even ugly and grey things seem beautiful, smooth and okay. Beautiful. Not like a bride, but, more like a poem.

Writing a poem about a broken heart makes the heart seem more whole; more put together somehow...
Tears captured in a photograph helps bring healing - to those who see them, as well as the one who cried them.
Painting a memory allows the reliving of the moment one last time, and the chance to walk away, knowing you can always return.

Creativity covers things that seem to offer death - and it makes them into something musical and good. Isn't creativity wonderful?

The only sad part about the season of creativity is when it melts away.

The Color Purple

Lavender is my favorite color. Here are some of the reasons why:

1. Lavender is a feminine color. It is kind and soft and warm.
2. Lavender is not TOO feminine of a color. It has an amount of strength that pink doesn't carry with it.
3. If lavender were music, it would be jazz. It's smoky; romantic; laid back; late night beauty.
4. The color of lavender is complex and indecisive - it can express happiness and sadness at the same time, both emotions being expressed equally well.
5. Lavender is mysterious.
6. Purple is a mix of blue and red - traditionally colors that represent masculinity and feminity. For lavender to be created, white is added- a color that represents purity. Could there be any color more romantic than that?
7. Lavender is a color of royalty - a princess wears lavender.
8. I have hazel eyes. When I wear lavender, the green in my eyes comes alive! It's like I get to be a new girl for the whole day!

And there you have it. Lavender is feminine, strong, expressive, romantic, and magical. Those are just a few reasons why it's my favorite color.

What's YOUR favorite color, and why?
