Blue Like Jazz
I read this in "Blue Like Jazz." I thought it was worth underlining and giving some thought to:
Tony the Beat Poet says the words alone, lonely, and loneliness are three of the most powerful words in the English language. I agree with Tony. Those words say that we are human; they are like hunger or thirst. But they are not words about the body, they are words about the soul.
What do ya think?
Are there words you'd add or subtract from this statement?
Do you think "alone, lonely, and loneliness" are some of the most powerful words in the English language?...
Hm...

"Alone, lonely, and loneliness" are some of the weakest words in our language. "Accompanied, acquainted, and friendship" are three of our more powerful words. Our solitude says we are human? A tree can be alone. But only a person can make a friend.
I deleted this comment because, for some reason, it was showing my whole entry again in the comments! I can't figure out why. We're just gonna go with it.
Patrick? I LOVE your passionate answer to this one! I LOVE IT!
What would you think about power of the same words if the statement would have read more this way?:
Saying "I'm lonely," is like the souls way of saying, "I'm thirsty," or "I'm hungry?"
